The long awaited HTC 7 Pro Windows Phone 7 will be available on O2 Germany from week 3, 2011. This news was confirmed by @o2inside (Albert Fetsch) this monday. It is the first Windows Phone 7 with a five row hardware keyboard. Being launched in Germany, the device is supposed to have a QWERTZ layout keyboard.
The HTC 7 Pro has the same features as most of the latest Windows Phone 7 devices: A 1 GHz. CPU powered by Qualcomm, 576 MB of RAM, Wifi B,G,N, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and High Speed data UMTS/HSDPA (at 2100 MHz) and HSUPA. A-GPS has been included too and there is even a FM radio onboard. The screen is 3,6″ which makes it one of the smaller ones around now. The other usual findings are a 5 MegaPixel camera which is also capable of recording 720p HD movies. It measures 59 x 117.5 x 15.5 mm and weighs 185 grams.
The HTC 7 Pro is can be bought from O2 unlocked for 569 Euro in Germany or a lot cheaper on a contract for 22 euros per month for two years. I hope O2 also has a QWERTY version available soon. Launch dates for other O2 countries (UK/Ireland and Spain) is unknown at the moment. This device can be positioned as the the successor of the HTC Touch Pro 2, which I still use and has one of the best hardware keyboards around.
