Windows Phone 8 Announced, and 7.8 Update details, Read On

Today Windows Phone 8 was announced with some great added features that will jump ahead or even up with the competitors. One of the first new features you will love is the better Start Screen. You can re-size any tile in one of the three sizes available.  But that ‘s not all. Lets make a list for a quick read.

  1. Same Windows Core for Widows 8 and Windows Phone 8.
  2. Hardware support for multi-core processors.
  3. Three new screen resolution support
  4. Full SD support to add more memory
  5. NFC support
  6. Wallet Hub, secured with extra pin and works with third party apps.
  7. New User interface
  8. Skype and VOIP integration
  9. Improved Multi Tasking
  10. In app purchased
  11. Enterprise ready
  12. Nokia Maps will be integrated in all Windows Phone.
  13. Next generation Windows Phone will be on Quallcomm
  14. Windows Phone 7.8 update for existing users. Windows 8 doesn’t run on existing Windows Phone 7.x devices
  15. 50 languages, 180+ countries.
  16. All software updates are over the air (No USB needed)
  17. Microsoft update at least 18 months after launch of device (hopefully the US Carriers are listening)
  18. And there are many new user features that they didn’t want to mention yet.
  19. All current apps will run on Windows Phone 8
  20. custom sound support on Text notification.

 

Ok….exciting and I can’t wait till the secure NFC Sims are available in the USA.
