Navigon Navigation for Windows Phone on Sale and will be Windows Phone 8 Compatible

Navigon navigation has been an outstanding application for Windows Phone and Windows Mobile for years. For all non Nokia users this is the best navigation app to have. Heck even for Nokia users it is a great Navigation app to have. We did a video review of Navigon last year on Windows Phone 7.  We just got a notification from them about their future……

And they are here to stay. The NAVIGON for Windows Phone USA app is $20 off until October 31 ($29.99 instead of $49.99). And the next version of the Navigon app will be compatible with Windows Phone 8 and current users of the Navigon app will be able to download the new version at no extra cost.

The NAVIGON app turns Windows Phone 7 smartphones into fully-functional mobile navigation systems with spoken turn-by-turn directions. Similar to a standalone navigation device, NAVIGON for Windows Phone works in areas without a cell phone signal, so users can get directions and information anytime, anywhere. Also included are premium features such as visual lane guidance, live traffic information and rerouting, live weather and safety camera information, Google Local Search, and speed warnings, among many other functions.

The only small disadvantage I have with this app that it is only for the US while Nokia Drive app has world-wide maps for download. Now the question will be to get it or to wait till Microsoft lets the world know next week if they will have something comparable for everyone using Windows Phone 8.  The other question I have if either Navigon or Bing will come with a Navigation application for the Surface with Windows 8 RT and Pro.

Get Navigon USA now for $29.99 till October 31st at the Windows Phone Store
