LG just announced the release of the first Windows Phone running the Windows Mobile 6.5 operation software. This release is however through Vodafone for the European market only.
The LG GM750 will be available in October first in the Netherlands, Germany, Greece, Italy, Spain and the UK. In France the unit will be available through SFR. Soon LG and Microsoft will announce the LG GM750 with Vodafone in other countries. We wonder tough if this phone will come available in the US.
The LG GM750 comes with all what a Windows Phone should offer, Below is a short list with the most important specifications:
- Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional ( 3-inch 240x 400 pixels touch screen)

- Wifi b/g
- High Speed 3G (HSDPA 7.2)
- 5 Megapixel Camera
- 2oo MB internal Memory
- Micro SD slot
- Bluetooth
- internal GPS
- LG S-class user interface to personalize your own phone. (4 home screens)
- Li-Ion 1000 mAh battery
- and more
With Windows Mobile 6.5 the following applications and services will be also available
- Windows market Place
- My Phone
- Windows Live
This LG phone is reaching the specifications that we got in the Samsung Omnia. Except for the built in internal Memory. We would like to see Gb’s instead of Mb’s.
But the high speed HSDPA 7.2 and a 5 Megapixel camera gives it an edge for the consumer market.
