One of the largest complaints with documents shared on SkyDrive was that others couldn’t edit collaborated documents if they didn’t have a Microsoft account. Well SkyDrive listened and this is now possible. According to the Inside SkyDrive official Blog a billion Office documents on SkyDrive can be collaborated with ease. With a special edit link all recipients (even with a non-Microsoft ) can edit the document. You can even edit this at the same time. Of course you can have more control and just invite specific people via their email and checking the “require user sign-in”. These changes definitely will make it easier to share and collaborate specific documents. SkyDrive is increasingly adding functionality and is Read more

If you are travelling to the United States or if you live in the United states you realize that Mobile data comes at huge cost. Many get charged international roaming data costs or if you live in the United Sates you get charged overages. In some cases you even have to pay your carrier to turn on the hotspot functionality on your phone just to be able to share your current data plan with other devices. Many have asked me over the years what is the best dataplan to get. Well there is a new player in town. Until now Virgin Mobile  was the first choice I would let people know to Read more

However your Store live tile is not showing any notifications of pending updates yet. Don’t worry there is a little trick to this so that you can download the update even before you get your notification. I was pleasantly surprised this morning with an email from Skype letting me know that I now have an assigned phone number to make Skype calls using my cellphone and my registered caller ID. This email hints very much to Google Voice type service to be deployed as Skype on Windows Phone. A couple of weeks ago Skype let me register my Microsoft account as part of my profile. A couple of months ago it let me me assign a caller ID to the service for free for outgoing calls world wide. The rates for world wide calling on Skype are pretty much the same compared to all the other calling card Read more

If you’ve ever lost your password to any given website, it can be extremely frustrating. I know I’ve had this happen to me many times. If you’re anyone like me, and think one password would suffice for everything, then this post is for you. Many websites have certain criteria as far as passwords go, and you may be forced to use a different password then you are used to, or your usual username might have already been taken, and you may have to resort to a totally unfamiliar and hard to remember username. It’s a pain in the neck to remember all of these. Wouldn’t it be nice to just Read more
