This week I received some great news from Jason Dunn, Editor in Chief of both Pocket PC Thoughts and Smartphone Thoughts and Windows Mobile MVP.  Jason has launched a new website called Windows Phones Thoughts.

“Over the years as the Windows Mobile Professional and Windows Mobile Standard platforms have gotten closer and closer together, I’ve looked forward to merging Pocket PC Thoughts and Smartphone Thoughts into a single site.”

With the announcement of the new Windows Phones brand on October 6th, it perfectly makes sense to merge these two sites into the new Windows Phone Thoughts website.

The picture above shows the new Windows Phone Thoughts logo, and you can see that both a Windows Mobile Standard device (HTC Snap) representing Smartphone Thoughts, and a Windows Mobile Professional device (HTC HD2) representing Pocket PC Thoughts, are part of the logo design.

Jason Dunn, Editor in Chief of both Pocket PC Thoughts and Smartphone Thoughts and Windows Mobile MVP, furthermore explains some of the dynamics around the merger in the announcement post on Windows Phone Thoughts:

“It will be hard retiring the name Pocket PC Thoughts – a site that has existed for longer than any other online property I’ve ever created – but all the great content, and you, the great community behind it, will live on under a new name. The same goes for Smartphone Thoughts – I’ll miss that eye-catching orange design, but that core of what made that site great was the community and the fantastic volunteer Contributing Editors that have poured their efforts into it over the years. All that will continue to exist as I move the content from the old forum locations into the new forums.” 

I would like to congratulate Jason Dunn, and the whole team of contributing editors -on behalf of the whole MobilityMinded Team-  with the launch of the new Windows Phones website. Furthermore much success with the whole process of merging Pocket PC Thoughts and Smartphone Thoughts to the new Windows Phones website !
